A few days ago, a youth had stayed in a Oyo Hotel at Noida with his female friend. After a few days, some private photos and videos of him and his female friend were sent by some random people on the phones of their friends. The accused then demanded money by blackmailing the couple.
Upon interrogation, the accused accepted they used to blackmail the couples by recording their obscene videos by putting a video holder camera in Oyo Hotels. Additionally, they also used to take fake SIM cards and cheat people in the name of selling the iPhone through fake call centre.
A case has been filed at Noida’s Phase 3 Police Station under India Penal Code's Sections 420 (cheating), 386 (extortion by fear of death/grievous hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
Four men were arrested by the Gautam Buddh Nagar police identified as Vishnu Singh, Abdul Wahav, Pankaj Kumar and Anurag Kumar, the four men are accused of secretly recording couples in OYO rooms and blackmailing them for money by threatening to release the videos.
